Personal data protection

The data protection regulations apply whenever personal data is to be processed in the research project, that is, information relating to an identified or identifiable person, and must be foreseen both in the design and in the execution as in the publication of the works.

In order to guarantee the participants’ right to the processing of personal data, as indicated by the regulations governing this fundamental right , the Research Ethics and Biosecurity Committee of the University of Girona (CEBRUdG) evaluates research projects with people, establishing the guidelines that derive from the data protection and ICT security regulations.

It is recommended to take into account the possibility of achieving the objectives of the research project without having to process personal data (for example, using anonymous data). Only in the event that the objectives cannot be achieved without processing this data, then they must be collected and processed in accordance with the considerations of the CEBRUdG, https://www.udg.edu/ca/protecciodedades/recerca-i-proteccio-de-dades
