Personal data protection


The research carried out by the University requires, in many cases, the processing of personal data, either data from people who provide it (informants), or pre-existing data previously obtained for other purposes. In the design and execution of the works, the rights of people are guaranteed, asking for their consent to participate and/or applying techniques to minimise the risks that exist in any treatment. The Research Ethics and Biosafety Committee of the University of Girona   evaluates research projects and gives guidelines to follow also in matters of security and respect for the right to data protection. When the research affects minors, the criteria listed in Protocol for the protection of children at the University of Girona applies.

Procedure: in the event that the research project involves the processing of personal data, consent must be requested from the Research Ethics and Biosecurity Committee of the University of Girona
